Andrea Lee was born on 15th August 1998, in Los Angeles. She began playing golf as a child at age five under the guidance from her dad James. As a young girl she started competing in tournaments, and within 4 years, she had earned 50 junior titles. She went to the finals of the US Women's Open in Pinehurst No. at the age of 15 and her father along with her as a caddie. The LPGA Tour invited her as one of their sponsors to the 2015 ANA Inspiration, where she was able to make the cut, but only just one stroke. Lee was a member of the USA as a Junior Ryder Cup Junior Solheim Cup Curtis Cup team and in Women's World Amateur Team Championship. In 2016, she joined Stanford University and became its most decorated athlete at the moment. Through the next three years she earned nine individual championships. Lee turned professional in 2019after having left Stanford University. Her record as an amateur was 17 weeks in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Lee was a top amateur and finished her season as top amateur, won an award called the Mark H. McCormack 2019 Medal. Lee scored four hole-in ones and one albatross as an amateur. In her debut season playing on the LPGA Tour, Lee had two top 10 results. She finished 7th at the AIG Women's Open in 2020 which was held on Kingsbarns Golf Links. Lee was the first woman to win her debut LPGA Tour win in the 2022 Portland Classic. She dedicated it to her late grandfather Min who died in 2012. Min was constantly calling me a winner and believe that I was a winner. It was an honor to have him as a grandfather. I knew that he'd be watching. She has competed before in the figure skating, soccer and Taekwondo. Lee loves watching movies, singing in bowls and skiing.
